The direct manifestation of this focus involves many areas including investment and personal asset management, business incubation, philanthropic operations, concierge services, healthcare management, and social interaction.
Morton and his family firmly believe in the Jewish philosophy of “Tzedakah” – the Hebrew word for the just and righteous giving required of Jews, and they pursue Tzedakah projects through The Morton H. Meyerson Family Foundation. The Foundation is their primary philanthropic vehicle with a focus on providing assistance to people in Texas, Israel, New York, Arizona, and Montana while supporting small non-profit organizations with low administrative expenses and led by “change agents” who are passionate, competent, effective and kind.
Since its founding in the early 1990s, the Rainwater Charitable Foundation has focused on helping children in the United States; specifically, those with the greatest needs. Employing the same strategies that its founder, Richard Rainwater used for investing, we seek out successful programs around the country with proven, measurable success, strong leadership and the ability to scale for greater impact.
