Rooted in the Jewish teachings of Tzedakah and caring for the most vulnerable while protecting their dignity, The Morton H. Meyerson Family Foundation invests in innovative, resilient leaders pursuing economic, educational, and social equity. Tzedakah is the Hebrew word for the just and righteous giving required of Jews. The Foundation funds effective non-profit organizations led by “change agents” who are passionate, competent, and kind. By partnering with education initiatives and programs which assist resilient students with demonstrated financial need to complete college, the Foundation seeks to break the poverty cycle.
Since its founding in the early 1990s, the Rainwater Charitable Foundation has focused on helping children in the United States; specifically, those with the greatest needs. Employing the same strategies that its founder, Richard Rainwater used for investing, we seek out successful programs around the country with proven, measurable success, strong leadership and the ability to scale for greater impact. Believing that a high-quality education can transform the life trajectories of children and families, we currently focus on improving public education for children from birth through 12th grade by concentrating our efforts on early childhood education and school leadership in Fort Worth, Texas.
